If you want to know the cost of getting a tattoo removed with laser tattoo removal then please read this article.

Cost of laser tattoo removal

If you want to get laser tattoo removal then you're probably wondering how much it's going to cost. First of all I've got some bad news for you; it's going to be a lot. Unfortunately getting a tattoo removed is going to cost more than it did when you got it, and if you don't use anaesthetics it's going to be a lot more painful as well.

Gang tattoo removal

If it's a gang tattoo you want to get removed I have some good news for you; there are a lot of community organizations that will help you offset those costs; if you Google for them you should know to find a few near you.

Why removing a tattoo is expensive

For the rest of us unfortunately removing a tattoo is going to be expensive. How expensive you ask? It's going to vary a lot; let me explain. There are a lot of factors that affect how easily a tattoo can be removed; there's the size of the tattoo, the colour of the tattoo, the type of ink used in the tattoo, whether the tattoo is old or new, and the level of skill of the tattoo artist that made it.

Getting a tattoo removed by laser is something that has to be done in sessions, and it will take more than one session. Now the cost of a session is going to vary between various organizations but the real cost multiplier in this case going to be the number of sessions that you'll have to take; if you have a small black and white tattoo made by an experienced artist, then you can probably expect to get your tattoo removed in just session or two, but if you have a large complicated tattoo involving turquoise ink that was made by an inexperienced tattoo artist (i.e. your friend with a modified electric toothbrush) then it can take up to 15 to 20 sessions.

Obviously there is a huge amount of variation in the cost of getting your tattoo removed, but I want to remind you again of the rule of thumb; getting a tattoo removed is going to cost a lot more than getting it in the first place.

Calculating cost of laser tattoo removal

Here is a rough method you can use to calculate the cost of getting a tattoo removed. First of all what you've got to know when getting your tattoo removed is that the session can cost $200-$500. For the purposes of this exercise let's just say that the session is $300. Once you've got the costs for the session the system is a little bit more tricky; what I want you to do is look at your tattoo and think objectively about it; if it's a big complicated design involving a lot of colours then you can expect the number of session you need to have to skyrocket, If it's a nice small design in black-and-white then you really won't need as many sessions to get your tattoo removed; as a general rule of thumb it's going to take somewhere between two and 20 sessions to get a tattoo removed, and that means getting your tattoo removed (assuming a cost per session off $300) is going to cost you anywhere between $600 and $6,000.

So in conclusion getting a tattoo removed by laser is not going to be a cheap process; you can expect to pay a lot to get your tattoo removed.
